Life is our Curriculum

"Whatever an education is, it should make you a unique individual, not a conformist; it should furnish you with an original spirit with which to tackle the big challenges; it should allow you to find values which will be your road map through life; it should make you spiritually rich, a person who loves whatever you are doing, wherever you are, whomever you are with; it should teach you what is important, how to live and how to die." – John Taylor Gatto

Late night ramblings

I was sitting here reading through some old online diary posts of my SIL and thinking I should take up blogging again. I rememberd that I had an account here but I did not realise it had been almost three years since I created it! I truly am the ultimate procrastinator.

Many things have changed since then. My husband found a job he liked though it didn't pay well. He stayed there for a year or so before he found another one he liked that pays very well. We had another baby last summer, she is 13 months now and adorable as can be. We moved back in march of this year to a larger home that's in much better shape despite it's age. Our previous home was built in 1939 and this one was built in 1910. It's a beautiful home and I love it. The sale of our other home allowed us to pay off our van so that our only current debt is this house. We were also able to buy a nice laptop and router so I can go anywhere on our property I want, besides our desktop was having serious problems.

So our children are now 5 1/2, 3 1/2 and 13 months. They are quite the adventure! My babe started to walk at 10 months and she is great at it now, she also likes to climb. I left a heavy duty glass jar with lid on the floor and she climbed up on it to get the fork from the food I was making and again later to get a bottle of water. My oldest is kindergarten age now and we are homeschooling so If I keep up at this writing thing you are sure to hear about that. My middle chld is for the most part a shy and compliant little girl but when she does make up her mind about something there is no changing it. They all have their challanges, their strengths and weaknesses, their actions that make laugh or really frustrate me. I think if they teach me anything in life it will be paitence and the ability to slow down and enjoy each day and moment for what it is.

I suppose this short entry is a good start and that I should be cuddled up in bed with my family. Goodnight for now.
